Learning Specialist

Engage the Brain · Maitland, FL (Orlando/Central Florida)

Be the reason a student finally says, “I get it.”

Every student who comes to Engage the Brain has a story. Some believe they’re “bad at reading.” Some freeze at a math worksheet. Some have brilliant ideas they can’t get onto paper. As a Learning Specialist, you’re the person who helps it click.

We work with learners from pre-K through adulthood, including students with dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning differences. Each one gets a personalized plan built around their strengths and needs. No one-size-fits-all, just teaching that changes how students see themselves.

What you’ll do

You’ll work one-on-one to build skills including reading, writing, math, and executive functioning. You’ll use proven, multisensory methods such as Orton-Gillingham, and you’ll partner with families while you celebrate every breakthrough along the way.

Why you’ll love it here

  • Real teaching: time to know your students deeply, without large classes or teaching to a test
  • Visible impact: you’ll see the reluctant reader open a book and the anxious student walk in confident
  • Growth: ongoing professional development in evidence-based methods
  • Flexibility and respect: flexible scheduling, competitive pay, and a supportive, collaborative team

Who we’re looking for

You’re a patient, creative educator who believes every student can succeed. Experience with learning differences and training in a structured literacy approach are a plus, and we’ll help you grow.

Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in education, special education, reading, or a related field.

Schedule: flexible working hours
